Embarked June 11, 1918; transferred to Company F, 18th Infantry, 1st Division. Died from wounds July 21, 1918, received in Meuse-Argonne Sector. Buried at Soissons, France. Cited "for gallantry and especially meritorious service" by Commanding Officer of First Division. Survived by widow, Ethel Armstrong, and son, Richard."
