Eben Doan was born on May 30, 1893 in Bellingham, Wash. He was the son of Mrs. John A. Rogers. He entered the military service at Camp Lewis, Wash. on October 3, 1917. He served at Sommerville, Ansauville, Montididier, and Cantigny (wounded on July 21, 1918). He was a Private First Class in Company D, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division during WWI. He was Killed in Action on August 15, 1918 at Soissons, France and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument as a Private.
