Description:

The site is a plaque commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the formation of US Naval Air Station (NAS) Porto Corsini and five Naval Airmen who died while serving there during the First World War.

The site is located on a wall of a lighthouse located in the port of Ravenna. The lighthouse is located on Molo Dalmazia (Dalmazia pier) which is on the southern side of the Canale Candiano (Candiano Canal). (Note: Porto Corsini Naval Air Station was actually located on the northern side of the canal). The Dalmazia pier is about 15 kilometers from the historic center of Ravenna.
