The site is located in the hamlet of Gradenc in the town of Žužemberk. Žužemberk, is a town located about 50 kilometers southeast of the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana. It is the seat of the Municipality of Žužemberk. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola in what is known as the Suha Krajina – or Dry Carniola. The hamlet of Gradenc is about 7 kilometers southwest of Žužemberk. The site is located in a small park adjacent to farm fields on the southwest side of the hamlet.
