Monte Battaglia
Description:
There are three memorials at this mountaintop site; a series of plaques remembering the 88th Infantry Division operations in September-October 1944 and two plaques marking the location where the remains of two soldiers were found who were previously listed as missing in action (MIA).

The site is located on the peak of Monte Battaglia (715 m), near a medieval castle, “La Rocca di Monte Battaglia”. The site is located in the Apennines mountains in the region of Emilia Romagna. It is located about 15 kilometers from the town of Castel del Rio (Where the Gothic Line Museum is located) along the SP 610 road. Nearing the site, follow signs for Monte Battaglia. There is a parking area and then a 10 min walking climb to the top.
