Allerona
Description:
The site includes one memorial remembering the bombing of an enemy train on January 28, 1944, which tragically resulted in Allied casualties as the train was transporting Allied POWS to include Americans.

The site is located under a railway bridge (Orvieto Railway Bridge –North or Ponte Guilio) in the town of Allerona, in the Localita Ponte Guilio which is about 10 milometers north of Orvieto. The bridge is immediately adjacent to the Autostrada A1, but the nearest Autostrada exit is Orvieto. The site is located in the Province of Terni in the Italian region of Umbria in central Italy. From Orvieto take SP 44 north towards Allerona. Exit at Via Ponte Guilio and follow farm roads to the site. .
