The site is located along the east bank of the Elbe River in the German city of Torgau. Torgau a town on the banks of the Elbe in northwestern Saxony, Germany. It is the capital of the district Nordsachsen. The site is located just north of the bridge across the Elbe (Elbebrucke) off route 87, just across the river from Schloss (Castle) Hartenfels. .
