The Royal British Legion National Remembrance Gardens, formerly known as the National Memorial Arboretum, is located just south of Alrewas in Staffordshire, England, approximately 5 miles (8 km) north of Lichfield. Covering approximately 150 acres (61 hectares) of former gravel workings, the site lies at the western edge of the National Forest, near the A38 road. It is situated close to the confluence of the River Tame and River Trent and directly adjoins Croxall Lakes. The memorial gardens are divided into four colour-coded zones—purple, orange, green, and blue—to help visitors navigate the grounds. The site is bordered to the north by the River Trent and artificial lakes formed through former gravel extraction activities, while the River Tame flows along its eastern boundary, beyond which lies the National Forest. The Orange Route begins at the end of Millennium Avenue and follows a pathway alongside the River Tame, extending to Watersmeet, the furthest point from the Remembrance Centre. Along this route, visitors pass several memorials, including those dedicated to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and the Allied Special Forces.
