Outside the village hall is a memorial dedicated to the memory of the "Garvestone Twelve", ten aircrew and two firemen of the United States Army Air Force who died on the 4th of June, 1944 when a B-24 Liberator of the 492nd Bomb Group flying out of North Pickenham air station crashed in the village of Garvestone.
