Back to Search Result

Description:

The site is where Cpt Hamilton Coolidge’s aircraft crashed in WW1 and was the former location of his isolated burial.

Address:

, 08250 , Chevières , 08-Ardennes , Grant Est , France

Situated in a cornfield on the northern outskirts of Chevières. This is about a mile northwest of the town center. From the town center, take the Rue du Moulin/D342 to the east where it will lead you to the north, across the river and out of the village. Continue your way to the north then take the first junction to the west. After 650 meters, take the south path until you get to CPT Coolidge’s grave. These are unmarked and unpaved farming roads. In the summer, navigation is more difficult due to the tall corn.
