The site is located in an open high pasture area (sheep herding) known as Mala Planina in Žaga, Slovenia. Žaga,is a dispersed mountain settlement that extends from the valley leading up to the Črnivec Pass up to the Big Pasture Plateau (Velika planina) in the Municipality of Kamnik in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia.
