Franquetot Castle

Description:

The castle houses a museum that contains exhibits and collections of military objects from the Second World War. The castle was the command post of General James Lawton Collins, the head of the 7th U.S. Army Corps, from July 3-13,1944.

The castle is located on the west side of Éturville in the former commune of Carquebut. In 2019, Carquebut was merged into the commune Sainte-Mère-Église. From the Sainte-Mère-Église center, the museum is about 4.9km south via N13 and if coming from the Carquebut center, the museum is about 2.2km east via Rue d’Eturville.
