The site is on the Pontoise – Cormeilles Aerodrome, which is on the D915 between Genicourt and Cormeilles-en-Vixen. Constructed in 1937 for use as a French Army airfield, it was utilized by the German Army during the occupation of France. The airport was a USAAF Ninth Air Force combat airfield, designated as "A-59," from September 44 until May 45. It was also known as "Cormeilles-En-Vexin Advanced Landing Ground." It is still an active airfield today.
