Description:

The site contains a monument and graves of three U.S. Merchant Mariners buried in 1942, during the Second World War. The U.S. Merchant Mariners who died in April 1942 and were buried there include Seaman Russel Bennett, Wiper James O'Brien, and Messman Maurice Liebman. There are also five American and Polish war burials and the graves of three merchant seamen whose deaths were not due to war service.

The Murmansk Allied Military Cemetery Extension is on the northeastern side of Murmansk, about four kilometers from its center. It adjoins the Russian Military Cemetery of the Soviet-Finnish War (1939--1940) and the Second World War (1941-1945, known in Russia as the Great Patriotic War).
