The site includes two memorials, a museum and a sign, that remember the horrific "Death Railrailway" of WW2 where civilians and POWs where forced under harsh conditions to build the Burma-Thailand railway.

Thanbyuzayatis a town in the Mon State of south-eastern Myanmar (formerly known as Burma). It is the administrative center for Thanbyuzayat Township. Thanbyuzayat is about 64 kilometres (40 mi) south of Mawlamyine (Moulmein). The site is located at the town Death Railway Museum
