Saint-Côme-du-Mont Church

Description:

The church has a plaque honoring Sergeant Joseph Beyrle, who landed on the roof of the church at Saint-Come-du-Mont and was the only American to have served with both the United States Army and Soviet Army in World War II. Another plaque can also be seen in front of the church commemorating Lt Robert E. Judels, a member of the 101st Airborne Division.

Saint-Côme-du-Mont is a former commune in the Manche department in Normandy in north-western France. On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune of Carentan-les-Marais. Saint-Côme-du-Mont Church is located in the center of the town. The main entrance to the church is located at the intersection of streets Rue des Écoles and Rue Maréchal Leclerc.
