Graignes-Mesnil-Angot Église Saint-Michel

Description:

The church has a plaque commemorating the American paratroopers of the 82nd US Airborne Division who died during the liberation of the town in World War II. The old religious building was destroyed during the Battle of Normandy, but the bell tower has been preserved and is now a memorial. The current church was rebuilt from 1956 to 1960 by Guy Pison, and listed as a historical monument on June 16, 2005.

The church is located in the commune center about 900 meters northwest of the town. The entrance to what was then a church and now a memorial and cemetery is located at the junction of two streets which have the same name as D389E2/ Place de la Libération.
