The site is situated near the hamlet of Le Rousseau about 5 km northeast of the Gorron town hall. This is located about 290 meters east of the Le Petit Domfront and Le Petit Aunay junction. The former military cemetery, which served as a temporary burial ground during World War II, no longer functions as an official cemetery. Initially, it was one of several provisional sites used for the burial of American soldiers who died during the Normandy campaign.
