The site is an old churchyard cemetery, situated about 850 meters northwest of Greiz town hall, near the Friedhofstraße and Siebenhitze junction. The site was originally used as a funeral and cemetery chapel for memorial services and burials. As of 2025, while no longer in regular religious use, it remains a preserved cultural site occasionally used for commemorative events and visited for its historical and architectural significance.
