Cinq-Mars-la-Pile

Description:

The site includes one memorial, one of six "Borne de la Terre sacrée", "Borne of Sacred Soil" which include soil from the major battlefields of WW1 by the sculptor Gaston Deblaize; this Borne is dedicated to Marine Brigadier General Robert Dunlap, a WW1 Veteran, who died while attempting to rescue a French woman in 1931.
