Carlsfeld -Gruner Baum Community Center
Description:
The site includes one plaque mounted on a wall in the Carlsberg Community Center commemorating the efforts of then-Sergeant Thomas Stafford of 347th Infantry Regiment along the German-Czech border to persuade leaders of a force of about 40,000 combat-ready Wehrmacht personnel to surrender, avoiding great bloodshed on both sides in that area at the end of World War II.
