Details:

This military grave, along with others, is located in the northwest corner of the cemetery. The area is marked by the presence of grass, trees, and a stone pillar that commemorates the two world wars. Huter's grave is the first amongst those located on the east side of Allée St. Liboire, one of the cemetery's small paths, after you enter the military section of the cemetery.

Isolated Burial Huter's tombstone is a white marble cross with gold lettering. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Huter served in the 80th Infantry Division, 317th Infantry Regiment and landed at Utah Beach as part of the battle to liberate France. The 80th Infantry Division drove across France and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. After the war ended, Huter stayed in France to marry his wife Therese but was killed in a Jeep accident in Belgium in 1947.
