358th Infantry Regiment, 90th Infantry Division Fallen Memorial
Details:
On a boulder on the lawn in front of the church.
The memorial is a boulder about 4 feet high with a brass inscribed plaque attached to it. Adjacent to the plaque is a brass sculpture of the soldier dog tags and equipment; in the background of the plaque is the symbol of the 90thInfantry Division.
The memorial remembers six soldiers of the 2nd Platoon, Company D, 1st Battalion, 358th Infantry Regiment, 90th Infantry Division “Tough Ombres” who were killed on May 1, 1945 while liberating the town of Díly.
