Marion Mc Ilwain was born in 1925 and was from Alabama.
He served in the 358th Infantry Regiment of the 90th Infantry Division “Tough Ombres” in WW2. On May 1, 1945 while liberating the town of Díly, in the present day Czech Republic, he was killed in action. The town of Díly, in the Pilsen Region of Czech, remember him and his fellow five soldiers killed on that day with a memorial in front of the Church Sv. Cyrila a Metodeje (St. Cyril and Methodius).
