Red Simons was born on October 22, 1909 and was from Brownsville, TX.
He served in the 358th Infantry Regiment of the 90th Infantry Division �Tough Ombres� in WW2. On May 1, 1945 while liberating the town of D�ly, in the present day Czech Republic, he was killed in action. The town of D�ly, in the Pilsen Region of Czech, remembers him and his fellow five soldiers killed on that day with a memorial in front of the Church Sv. Cyrila a Metodeje (St. Cyril and Methodius).
