Bonnie G. Wright was born on January 25, 1918 in Shelby, Cleveland County, North Carolina. He enlisted in the Army on February 13, 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant in Company F, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on January 3, 1945 (at the age of 26) in Belgium and is now buried in Sunset Cemetery, Shelby, Cleveland County, North Carolina, USA.
