Thomas Huston Baskin was born on May 17, 1921. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. David A. Baskin. He volunteered for army service in September 1942. As a memebr of the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, he served in North Africa and Sicily and landed on the beachhead in Normandy on D-day. His division participated in the break-through of the Siegfried line and the capture of Aachen, Germany. He was Killed in Action on November 25, 1944 in Germany at the age of 23 and is now buried in Stones River National Cemetery, Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee, USA.
