Marcus Peter Zellner was born on January 4, 1925 in Stearns County, Minnesota. He was the son of Joseph John Zellner and Theresa Kaluza Zellner. Marcus served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Technician Fifth Grade in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on December 1, 1944 in Aachen, Germany at the age of 19 and is now buried in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Waite Park, Stearns County, Minnesota, USA. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry monument in Henri-Chapelle, Belgium and ranked as a Corporal.
