Melvin W. Baker was born in 1922 in North Carolina. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Baker. He had been in the service on April 1944 and had been overseas on the following September to serve with the infantry unit of the 1st Army. Prior to going overseas, he trained at Ft. McClellan, Alabama. He was Killed in Action on December 2, 1944 in Germany and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
