Raymond Herman Borne was born on December 7, 1923 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. Before entering the service he worked in the Blow Shop of the Corning Glass Works. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in Company F, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on November 29, 1944 in Germany at the age of 20 and is now buried in Belle Vernon Cemetery, North Belle Vernon, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, USA.
