Prior to enlisting on November 18, 1941, he was graduated from North High School and was employed as a fireman with the Pennsylvania Railroad. Lieutenant Lescalleet received his commission at Ft. Benning, Ga. and was attached to Gen. Patton's army. He was with the first division to cross the English Channel on D-Day. He died from his wounds received in battle in 1944 and is now buried in Union Cemetery, Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, USA.
