Marion H. Skinner, Jr. was born on February 10, 1922 in McCracken County, Kentucky. He was the son of Marion H. Skinner and Rubye Tapp Skinner. Marion served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Second Lieutenant in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on September 15, 1944 in Germany at the age of 22 and is now buried in Maplelawn Park Cemetery, Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky, USA. The headstone reads 1942 but is incorrect as no infantry soldier was killed in Europe before D-Day.
