Harold Brown Galley was born on March 19, 1912 in Columbus, Platte County, Nebraska. He was the son of Charles Button Galley and Inez Belle Brown Galley. He entered the service on March 31, 1944, and received his basic training at Camp Fannin, Texas. He went overseas to the European Theatre of Operations in September, 1944. Private Harold Galley was killed in action while with the First Army in Germany on November 17, 1944. He was the second Platte County man brought home for reburial. Interment was in the Columbus Cemetery.
