Melvin T. Clayton was born on February 11, 1920. He was the son of Ward Clayton and Myrtle Blackburn Clayton. Melvin served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on October 28, 1944 at the age of 24 and is now buried in Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth, Pendleton County, Kentucky, USA.
