Claude M. Dean was born on October 19, 1923 in Barren County, Kentucky. He was the son of Julior Hess Dean and Kate Lee Shader Dean. Claud served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on September 5, 1944 in Belgium at the age of 20 and is now buried in New Salem Church Cemetery, Glasgow, Barren County, Kentucky, USA.
