John P. Derbort was born on March 1, 1925 in New York. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Derbort who resided in Rochester, New York. He enlisted in the Army on September 13, 1943 in Rochester, New York. He was noted as being Single, without dependents. John resided at 104 Redfern Drive, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war. He was a graduate of Monroe High School. John served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on November 20, 1944 in Germany at the age of 19 and is now buried in Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York, USA.
