Harbour Stanley Gilley was born on May 10, 1923 in Patrick County, Virginia. He was the son of Emmett Hughes Gilley and Carrie Martin Gilley. Harbour served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on November 19, 1944 in Germany at the age of 21 and is now buried in Critz Baptist Church Cemetery, Critz, Patrick County, Virginia, USA.
