Pvt. Creel was 23 years of age and before going into service was employed at the Charleston Navy Yard. he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Creel of Conway. He was inducted in the service Sept. 25, 1943, and had been overseas five months. He was in the infantry with the first Army. He took his basic training at Camp Wheeler, Ga and got 10 days leave at home in April before going overseas. Myron served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 8, 1944 in Aachen, Germany at the age of 23. He has 2 memorials located in Hillcrest Cemetery and Brown Swamp United Methodist Cemetery in Conway, Horry County, South Carolina. It is unconfirmed where is buried.
