Jeremy H. Graves was a resident of Nassau, N. Y., when he entered service in March, 1942. He received his basic training at Camp Croft, S. C., and two-months training at Indiantown Gap, Pa., before being sent overseas in July of that year. SSGT Graves was a veteran of the North African and Sicilian campaigns before going to France on D-Day. He suffered wounds in Tunisia, later was hospitalized for jaundice contracted in Sicily and was wounded the second time in France. Returned to England for hospital care, he did not rejoin his outfit until about the first of October. He had seen service in France, Belgium and Holland before going to Germany. He died on November 16, 1944 and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
