Hans Ronald Struve was born in 1924. He was the son of Hans Struve and Irene Alaska Speckernagle Struve. He graduated from Pendleton High School and was attending Oregon State College when he enlisted in the A.S.T.R. which sent him to Kansas State University. He went into the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division as a replacement on November 6, 1944. He was Killed in Action on November 19, 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium and is now buried in Olney Cemetery, Pendleton, Umatilla County, Oregon, USA.
