Raymond John Guettes was born on June 22, 1921 in Illinois. He was the son of John Theodore Guettes and Margaret G. Boehmer Guettes. Raymond served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on November 29, 1944 in Langerwehe, Germany at the age of 23 and is now buried in All Saints Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, Des Plaines, Cook County, Illinois, USA.
