Richard C. Snyder was born on October 9, 1916 in Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the Maryland National Guard on February 3, 1941, prior to the war, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being given the immediate rank of Corporal, being employed as a Semiskilled mechanic, and also as Single, without dependents. Richard served as a Staff Sergeant, Infantry, U.S. Army during World War II. He resided in Baltimore, Maryland prior to the war. He was Killed in Action on December 4, 1944 in Belgium at the age of 28 and is now buried in Baltimore National Cemetery, Baltimore, Baltimore City, Maryland, USA.
