Gerald W. Knotts was born on September 18, 1923. He was the son of Ephraim Sylvester Knotts and Maggie Watford Knotts. Gerald enlisted in the U. S. Army on March 29, 1944 at Ft. Bragg, NC. He served with the 26th Infantry Division, and was killed in action on November 29, 1944 at the age of 21. He is now buried in Newman Swamp Methodist Cemetery, Lamar, Darlington County, South Carolina, USA.
