Charlie E. Mason was born on February 7, 1912 in Vermont. He enlisted in the Army on May 13, 1943 in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of paper goods and also as Married. Charlie served as a Private First Class, Anti-Tank Company, 16th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He resided in Carroll County, New Hampshire prior to the war. He was Killed in Action on September 12, 1944 at the age of 32 and is now buried in Pine Street Cemetery, Whitefield, Coos County, New Hampshire, USA. His name is also commemorated on a monument in Lancaster, NH.
