Norman Lomar McKenzie was born on May 21, 1922 in Wright City, McCurtain County, Oklahoma. He enlisted in November 1942 and served in Company H of the 16th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division, US Army. In April 1943 he joined the 1st Infantry Division while it was fighting in North Africa. Norman fought with this Division throughout North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, Belgium, and Germany. He was Killed in Action on November 18, 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge and is now buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hugo, Choctaw County, Oklahoma, USA.
