Charles Alfred Morse, Jr. was born on December 10, 1919 in Maine. He enlisted in the Army on February 26, 1942 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Roofer and also as Single, without dependents. Charles served as a Private First Class, 16th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He resided in Androscoggin County, Maine prior to the war. Charles was "Killed In Action" in the Battle of Hurtgen Forest, Germany during the war and is now buried in Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery, Lewiston, Androscoggin County, Maine, USA.
