Forrest Dean Rutherford was born on May 13, 1924. He was the son of Warren Artis Rutherford and Lamara Eva Taylor Rutherford. He was educated in the Waldron schools and widely known in the St Paul and Waldron communities. Forrest enlisted for service in the United States Army on March 31, 1942. He served at Camp Swift, Texas, Camp Wheeler, Ga, and Fort Meade, Maryland, before being sent overseas in October, 1943. He was assigned to the duties of a scout with the 16th Infantry in the First Division of the First Army. He was Killed in Action on November 20, 1944 in Aachen, Germany and is now buried in Van Pelt Cemetery, Waldron, Shelby County, Indiana, USA.
