Leonard S. Tryon was born on July 16, 1914 in New York. He enlisted in the Army on March 6, 1941, prior to the war, in Albany, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Bartender and also as Single, without dependents. Leonard served as a Staff Sergeant, 26th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He resided in Albany County, New York prior to the war. Leonard was "Killed In Action" near Aachen, Germany during the war. It is unclear whether he was killed in France or Germany since Aachen is on the border. He is now buried in Niskayuna Reformed Church Cemetery, Schenectady County, New York, USA.
