Bernard F. Haring was born on May 16, 1920 in Piermont, Rockland County, New York. He was the son of Charles A. Herring and Margaret Mary Leahy Herring. Bernard served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Sergeant in the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on September 13, 1944 in Germany at the age of 24 and is now buried in Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, Rockland County, New York, USA.
