Joseph Arthur Morton was born on August 21, 1921 in Ohio. He was the son of Joseph Arthur Morton and Beulah Chapman Doelfs Morton. He attended school in Mount Vernon and graduated from North high school in Columbus. He attended Ohio State university before entering the service in September, 1942. Joseph served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He has been overseas service since June of 1943. He was Killed in Action on September 18, 1944 and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
